Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree!

Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving we decorated our tree. I must admit I was anxious to get it up for the boys to see this year. They love looking at it and yes we have been on our toes trying to keep Benjamin out of it.

Helping Daddy put the tree together
Benjamin assisting with the task at hand
Christian helping Daddy tighten the tree in the stand
Benjamin under the tree I hate to think of how many times we will be dragging him out from under there!

We have a tradition with our ornaments. Ed and I have a ornament from each year that we have been together. Now that we have the boys we get them an orament each year. Here are our family ornaments for this year.Christian checking out his ornament

Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving~ We hope that you enjoyed your day! We have had a great day just being at home. We cooked our turkey and all the fixings and ate around 2. It is always amazing to me the preperation that goes into fixing everything and then it only takes about 15minutes for everyone to eat?? How does that work out?! We are so thankful for everthing that God has provided for us- we really could never ask for more! As always Enjoy the pictures!

Grandma & Christian checking out the turkey before we put it in the oven.Benjamin just hanging outThese next few pictures are pretty funny in a way because it is Benjamin beating up on his older brother. He is finally paying him back for all the times he has hit, pushed, sat on, etc. for the last 9 months! Getting him good!
When Christian finally got away Christian said Mommy I'm ok! :)

Carving the TurkeyWaiting patienly for his lunch....Look at that face he ws getting very impatient!
Tasting the sweet potato'sand trying the turkeyLook at that sweet face and those chubby cheeks!Neither one of the boys were crazy about the mashed potato's. Christian's favorite food by far was the stuffing. He really enjoyed Grandma's dirt cake- I think he would have ate the whole cake in one shot if we would have let him. Some of you may think we are "bad" parents but we let Benjamin have his first taste of sweet teaAs you can tell by his face he REALLY enjoyed it.....even grabbed the cup with both hands trying to go back for more!

The weather here today was nice in the 60's so after lunch we took the boys out to play for a little while. They had so much fun.

Double Trouble

Sorry I have not been posting that often but with two boys there is always double the trouble. Here are a few pictures to hold you over until I have the time for a "real" post.

So it seems that it is more fun to play under the train table then with the things on top of the table.

Christian doesn't usually crawl under the table but Benjamin has made it an art and goes all the way from one bin to the next and then gets out.....sometimes he really gets stuck then screams for help! :)The newest trick is standing up in the crib....They both think this is the BEST thing.Laughing at each other. I love how in this picture you can see Benjamin's eyes just glowing as he looks at his older brother. He is so proud. If you look closely you can see the 4 teeth he has on the bottom.

Mommy & Daddy's Weekend Away!

Ed and I were able to steal a weekend away by ourselves! (the first time since before we had Christian so over 2 years ago I think we were a little over due :) We decided to take a trip to Asheville so we hoped in the car and drove down on a Thursday evening and then came back on Saturday. Aunt Rhonda kept the boys in VA for a few days so we knew they were well taken care of. Enjoy the pictures!

We had breakfast at a little cafe downtown before we went shopping it was delicious! Ed talking to Dwight on the phone we have some friends that live in the area so we were trying to decide when we could catch up.Just me- look at the georgous trees in the background they said we came at the perfect time it was the peak weekend to see all the colors in the trees. Thats right- The Biltmore we bit the bullet while we were there and decided to go see it. Since we went the first weekend in Novemeber we got to see it decorated for Christmas it was opening weekend!
The Entrance- you really have no idea that when you enter you still have miles to drive before you park and get on the shuttle to actually see the house its just amazing the drive in that they had. When we went in to purchase our tickets they had it all decorated so our first Christmas picture of the season! Ed just being funny I guess when you don't have to take care of your kids you can revert back to being a kid! :)Me- sitting outside Look at those awesome tree, the blue sky, and fountain- this is the view out from the front of the Biltmore.
There it is this is one of the best pictures that we got- the house is huge and there is no way to get all of it in one shot.
Outside the front of the Bilmore- you can not take any pictures one you go in.
We also visited a little area they had called down on the farm. They had some little chicks here is Ed holding one.
I think we were really ment to live on a farm...I think Ed looks pretty good on that tractor! Sitting in the carriage- to bad we didn't have any horses to pull us.My turn on the tractor Yes that is right...I am getting ready to attempt to walk on stilts...sigh too bad it didn't work out to well and I am SO thankful that when I fell and everyone was looking at me my husband came and helped me and didn't decide to keep taking pictures! :)Eds attempt I must admit he did much better than I did! Me posing beside the old cars I would have loved to drive one of them
We couldn't see everything in one day so we upgraded our passes and can go back anytime we want to for the next year. We are hoping to go back during the festival of flowers. Here we are on our second day sitting outside on one of the enormous patios. Love the mountains in the background.
My handsome husband
Me again- I love how this picture makes my hair look a little red.
a couple pictures of the beautiful view

On Saturday before we headed home we met our friends Carol, Dwight, Olin, and Sue for lunch- it was great to catch up- Here is Olin at about 7 weeks old he slept almost the entire time we saw him. Such a sweet baby.
Everyone after a yummy lunch at my father's pizza in Black Mountain. Carol and Dwight live in Black Mountain and Sue had flown in for the weekend so it was a great opportunity for us all to catch up.

It was so refreshing to have a weekend away and I don't think that we plan on waiting 2 years to do it again.
