ABC's, 123's, Thank You and Your Welcome....

So Christian is picking up on many new things. He learns really fast. We have been working with him on saying Thank You when he asks for something and we give it to him. Well, here is a great moment we will encourage him to say Thank You- he will say it and then we say Your Welcome. Well just in the past few days well encourage him to say Thank You and instead we get Your Welcome! How cute :) At least he is polite.

Honestly we have not really been working with him on his ABC's but we do sing them with him and he has a few toys that sing the ABC's. He is picking up on them he has started saying ABC and then he just sits and waits and when it gets to the end he starts Y and Z. Now for the numbers we will say Christian give us 5 and he will give us five we count 1 2 3 4 5 he has started counting to 1 2 1 2 3 he doesnt quite get to five but he makes a great effort!!

Its amazing how much they soak up and take in everyday

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentines Day- from making cookies and cupcakes to getting a rocking horse....

We were not sure what we wanted to get Christian but we knew we didn't want to get him a bunch of candy (he still has some left from Christmas that he hasn't eaten.) Well we had looked into getting him a rocking horse at Christmas but we couldn't find anything reasonably priced so we decided to pass on it at the time. Well a couple of weeks ago while I was looking at a friends blog I saw that she had found her little boy a rocking horse on craiglist so I started looking and I found one for $20!! Practically brandnew! So we went and picked it up for Christian. What makes it even better is its animated it makes sounds and moves. What a great buy. If you have never checked out craiglist here is the link just look in your area. http://www.craigslist.com/

When we gave him the horse he wasn't to sure what to think. It definetly took him a little while to warm up to him but he finally decided he was ok and actually "rode" him for a little while.

Checking out his rocking horse for the first time

Daddy trying to help me warm up to him

He wasn't to sure what to think at first....

Finally he got on and rode for a few minutes

I think he decided he wants to keep it- there is his big smile!

We did give him a small box of candy. He knew what was inside and tried so hard to get the box open by himself :) Finally his Daddy helped him get it open and even shared a piece of candy with him.

check out that grin-success

Checking out his bubble maker Daddy got him

Reading his cards from Mommy and Daddy

He got a card in the mail from Caleb & Luke and carried it around "reading" it

Sharing a cookie that he made with Daddy

Sharing a cupcake too! Sometimes Ed will "tease" Christian with something by acting like he is going to give it to him and take it away well here is Christian getting him back-look at that face

We went to Walmart Wed. and I let Christian get this balloon for 88 cents well it was well worth it he had carried it around the house for days!

Baking Cookies
Emily and Mecaden came over so we could bake cupcakes and cookies for Daddy for Valentines Day. It was lots of fun here are some pictures.

Eating Breakfast in Daddys chair

Christian decided this morning that he wanted to sit in Daddy's chair to eat his breakfast (he still sits in his highchair all the time.) I gave in and let him sit in the big chair to eat. He was so happy to drink his milk and eat his yogurt and cheerios.

Could he be any happier??

Working on his cheerios

Trying to climb into the tiny basket-sometimes he actually sits in it.

Taking his ball upstairs to play- he loves to climb the steps all by himself!

A Fun Filled Saturday....Donuts, A basketball goal, and a party!

Well as most of you know we waited until Christian turned one to actually give him cake. The first taste of cake for him was at his birthday party. Well Saturday morning he got a special treat actually another first. A Donut! Daddy got up and went into Wake Forest to a donut shop and brought home some donuts. So here are a few pictures of our little man enjoying his first donut. What is funny is he really doesn't care for to many sweets. He will eat a chocalate chip cookie anyday (he gets that from his daddy) but cake, cupcakes, icecream, etc. he would rather do without. I think Donuts will be on the yes list from here on out.

We also have limited space for all of the toys our son has. He is blessed with plenty really more than he needs. Well we have a few gifts from his Birthday and Christmas that we have not even opened yet. Well Saturday morning Daddy decided to open up his baketball goal that he got for Christmas well he LOVES it. You can tell from the pictures that they both had a good time playing. Actually when Christian got up this morning Ed had already left for church (he leaves before us) Christian said Daddy ball Daddy ball. It was obvious he wanted to play ball with Daddy as soon as hit little feet hit the floor. So we know what they will be doing this afternoon.

Daddy showing my how to make hoopsI think I can do it.....SLAM DUNK!! Do we have a basketball player on our hands??

Last but not least- A PARTY!!

The weather was beutiful yesterday and we were invited a birthday party. Our friends the Jones's their little girl Eden turned one. The weather was so nice that they were able to actually have the birthday party outside which is always wondeful when you have a bunch of little kids just itching to play. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Checking out the horses- he really liked watching them

Wore out from having so much fun!

Okay, Tantrums, and Mommy's Bad Haircut.....

Well what a week...this week Christian has started answering responses with Okay. It is so cute. The first time was when we were getting ready to go run errands and I told him we were going bye bye the response was go bye bye, I said yes, lets go get in the van to which he replied okay. He has been using it ever since it is so cute the things that they pick up on. I guess now we need to start working on Yes Sir and Yes Mam.... we will see how that goes.

Tantrums- Christian threw a really big fit on Thursday for no real reason he was just mad so I had to take some pictures to post since everyone seems to think he is happy all of the time! :)

The pictures say it all... :)
Last but not least Mommy's haircut. Who would have thought.....Mommy went to go get a few inches cut off of her hair before the new baby comes (I have only had 1 haircut in 16 months!). Well I even took a picture with me my statement was I would like to have a litte bit cut off of my hair I want it to look like this picture and I still want to be able to pull it up. Well I will have to post a picture to show you what I got but lets just say there was obviously a communication breakdown because my hair is about 3-4 inches above my shoulders and there is no way I will be putting it up with anything anytime soon.... Needless to say I was not a very happy pregnant lady when I let the salon.... Oh well it will grow back but not in the next three weeks!
