PoTtY tRaINeD!!

That is right we have a little boy running around wearing underware!! and YES those are Thomas underware...LOL!!

There really is not a lot to the story it was much EASIER then I ever thought. (I can say that now!) We started full on potty training the Monday after Benjamin's Birthday party (3/9/09). That afternoon when he woke up from nap we took off the diaper and went with it. He had a few accidents but did make it to the potty most of the time. He was so excited!! After he used the potty each time we gave him the option of a piece of candy or a sticker for a reward (we did this for about 1week and then just stopped giving it to him unless he asked which only lasted a couple of days). By Friday we were wearing underware all day and then on Saturday when Daddy was home we braved going to Target and Chick fil a (we ate and played). He did AWESOME!! The first couple of times we went out we carried his potty seat with us it seemed to make him feel more comfortable but now we don't even give it a thought. He is wearing underware all day (yes even during naptime) but he does still wear a pull up still at night.

For those of you interested there was only a one "funny" during the training process....

He had one poppy accident and that was on Thursday of the first week it was not good Ed was out that evening (which is RARE) and I was getting the boys ready for a bath and bedtime. Well Christian was wandering around and I just went down the hall to get some PJ's for the boys when I heard him yelling OH NO MOMMMYYY!! I went running into the bathroom and as I opened the door there was poo in the floor and he was VERY upset about it he was close to the potty he just didn't make it. He was SOO UPSET that he had an accident and to make matters worse he stepped in it! So I picked him up and put him on the potty while I cleaned it up. I had aslo taken a moment to run out and put Benjamin in the exersaucer so he would be contained while I cleaned it up (it was upstairs b/c he has outgrown it and I used it just because I needed him to sit for a minute while I cleaned up the mess!!). So I run back in the bathroom to clean up the mess and then while I am in the midde of cleaning up the bathroom door starts moving...hmmm how is that happening Christian is on the potty and Ed is not home?! Well you guessed it...it was Benjamin he had crawled out of the exersacuer and to the bathroom AHHH!! well what does he do he also steps in the poo on the floor that I am trying to clean up sooo.....I take off the sleeper he was wearing and sit him in the empty tub with a couple of toys while I rushed to clean up the rest of the mess. Needless to say it was quite a night at our house. I did manage to get the boys both bathed and in bed and the poo did get cleaned up off of the floor. It was not fun at the time but will definetly be a funny story to share with him when he is older. And just incase you were wondering there has not been a poopy accident since! :0)

God has blessed us above and beyond what we could have ever imagined with these 2 little boys. Benjamin is such a precious gift to us! His smile and laughter light up a room and when he looks at me it melts my heart. I can't imagine what our life would be like without him. He is VERY independent and is always trying to keep up with his big brother. He is strong and loving. I tend to call him a little spicy...he is very strong willed and determined but hey he gets it honestly.

We are so blessed!

One Year Check-up

I took Benjamin for his one year check up.

26lbs.(85%)

31 3/4" long (95%)We have often thought that he was much bigger than Christian but not really he only weighs about 1/2lb more and 1/2" longer. I am going to get some of his birthday pictures tonight and will try to post them tomorrow! So this will have to do until then! :0)

Benjamin is ONE!

Wow--- where does the time go? I can't believe that our second little man turned one on Saturday. For Christian's 1st Birthday we took a short family trip to the beach. It was wonderful the weather was still warm and we were able to enjoy the water. A totally diffrent story for Benjamin being born in Febuary. The forcast was wet and rainy so we decided to head to Richmond for the weekend. Before I post a few pictures I thought I would share some of what he is up to these days since I haven't done it in soooo long...

*He is totally off of baby food and has been since about Thanksgiving he is a GREAT eater and will eat Christian under the table almost every meal.

*He has started walking some. Just last Thursday he walked 1/2 way across the living room and has done it once or twice since then.

*He has 10 teeth he had 4 for the longest time and just in the past month he has gotten 6 more!

*His vocabulary is growing he can say-- Mama, Ball, Bye Bye, Hi, Hey and he has recently started tring to say vroom vroom as he drives cars and trucks around like his big brother. We have not used sign language with him nearly as much as Christian but he does tell us more more

*He can clap his hands

*He loves to jump

*He can wave

*He is off of the bottle

*He is sharing a room with his big brother

*He loves to dance

I would say that he likes itMessy Messy Trying to eat and do his smile at the same time!
So we stuck with it and didn't give Benjamin any sweets until his actual birthday which is what we did with Christian but it was much harder this time around. Here is the cookie we got for him to try. LOVE this picture look at his little face. They came out and sang happy birthday to him and then set a little bowl of ice cream in front of him. His face looks like he is in udder shock.
