Robert Benjamin Singleton- 2/28/08 12:19am 8lbs 5oz 21"

Our new addition has arrived (actually a little earlier than expected)!! I will update the full story later but the short version is that I went into labor without having to be induced. We arrived at the hospital Wednesday night and I got checked in at 11:46p.m. and then at 12:19 a.m. Robert Benjamin was born. It was a FAST delivery and there was no time for meds. Everyone is doing well. He looks exactly like Christian did when he was born-check out the picture down on the righthand side of Christian the day he was born. Here are a few pictures of our new little man...

Please feel free to leave comments for those of you who have asked how at the bottom of the post there is a comments link just click that link and follow the instuctions in the pop-up box.

Family Pictures and More.....

We wanted to have some family pictures made with Christian before the new baby arrives. We were able to get that done this week. I personally was not interested in getting any maternity shots but the photographer talked me into it and I am actually glad that I did. One of my favorite pictures is the one at top of the page. I love it!

First Trip to the Dentist

Thursday we went to our first dentist appointment. It was quite interesting. Christian did a great job- although we did have a few tears :( The dentist Dr. Johnson said that his teeth were spaced out very well and that they looked wonderful! She did say he will probably need braces but that didn't really suprise us being that both Ed and I had them growing up. I wasn't able to take any pictures of them cleaning his teeth because I was holding him but I did get a few of him playing while we were there.

Playing while waiting to see the dentist- trying hard to reach the crank to move the balls

We Have a Date for Baby #2!

Well it's official- We went to the Dr. yesterday and things are going well. We had our last ultrasound and the babys weight is right around 7lbs 1oz (by their best estimate). We are scheduled to be induced on Feb. 28th!! Please pray for things to go smoothly with the labor and delivery and for Christian to adjust well. So the boy girl poll was split 50/50 I guess now we will let you vote on how much this baby will weigh....

Weekend Activities....

First we will start with Friday afternoon as I was finishing getting ready to head out to a Dr. apointment Christian was running around playing in his room, then all of a sudden I didnt see him anymore and went looking for him he had climbed up in the rocking chair in his room and was rocking away just saying rock rock rock.....

Can you tell he is so proud of himself??

On the weekends we usually try to find things for the 3 of us to do together. I have made a "short" :) list of things I would like to do with Christian before baby #2 arrives. One of which was go to the pottery place and make a plate or something with our handprints on it. Well we accomplished that Friday night. It was interesting- Ed really doesn't care for crafts but participated to make me happy (Thank You- Christian will appreciate it when he gets older). Here are a few pictures and we will post some of the finshed product when we pick it up next week!!

Mommy starting to paint our plate

Christian helping Mommy paint the plate- he did a great job!

The "finished" product before they fire it... Looks pretty good.

We made our pottery at a place called the factory they have a big fountain outside- Christian loves water and wanted to get in SO BAD (you can tell from the pictures).

Going to look at the waterTrying to keep him out of the water... :)

Sunday afternoon the weather was great so we went to one of the parks. Christian loves to go to the park. His favorite thing at the park is the slide. He loves to just RUN at the park I guess he is a typical boy...

Gettting ready to go down the slide.....

So much fun can you tell!

ABC's, 123's, Thank You and Your Welcome....

So Christian is picking up on many new things. He learns really fast. We have been working with him on saying Thank You when he asks for something and we give it to him. Well, here is a great moment we will encourage him to say Thank You- he will say it and then we say Your Welcome. Well just in the past few days well encourage him to say Thank You and instead we get Your Welcome! How cute :) At least he is polite.

Honestly we have not really been working with him on his ABC's but we do sing them with him and he has a few toys that sing the ABC's. He is picking up on them he has started saying ABC and then he just sits and waits and when it gets to the end he starts Y and Z. Now for the numbers we will say Christian give us 5 and he will give us five we count 1 2 3 4 5 he has started counting to 1 2 1 2 3 he doesnt quite get to five but he makes a great effort!!

Its amazing how much they soak up and take in everyday

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentines Day- from making cookies and cupcakes to getting a rocking horse....

We were not sure what we wanted to get Christian but we knew we didn't want to get him a bunch of candy (he still has some left from Christmas that he hasn't eaten.) Well we had looked into getting him a rocking horse at Christmas but we couldn't find anything reasonably priced so we decided to pass on it at the time. Well a couple of weeks ago while I was looking at a friends blog I saw that she had found her little boy a rocking horse on craiglist so I started looking and I found one for $20!! Practically brandnew! So we went and picked it up for Christian. What makes it even better is its animated it makes sounds and moves. What a great buy. If you have never checked out craiglist here is the link just look in your area. http://www.craigslist.com/

When we gave him the horse he wasn't to sure what to think. It definetly took him a little while to warm up to him but he finally decided he was ok and actually "rode" him for a little while.

Checking out his rocking horse for the first time

Daddy trying to help me warm up to him

He wasn't to sure what to think at first....

Finally he got on and rode for a few minutes

I think he decided he wants to keep it- there is his big smile!

We did give him a small box of candy. He knew what was inside and tried so hard to get the box open by himself :) Finally his Daddy helped him get it open and even shared a piece of candy with him.

check out that grin-success

Checking out his bubble maker Daddy got him

Reading his cards from Mommy and Daddy

He got a card in the mail from Caleb & Luke and carried it around "reading" it

Sharing a cookie that he made with Daddy

Sharing a cupcake too! Sometimes Ed will "tease" Christian with something by acting like he is going to give it to him and take it away well here is Christian getting him back-look at that face

We went to Walmart Wed. and I let Christian get this balloon for 88 cents well it was well worth it he had carried it around the house for days!

Baking Cookies
Emily and Mecaden came over so we could bake cupcakes and cookies for Daddy for Valentines Day. It was lots of fun here are some pictures.
